This week on The WP Crowd Carl Alexander, Nick Adams, and Roy Sivan discuss what they’d want out of WordPress if it was re-built.
Carl & Roy brought up Ryan Mccue’s LoopConf talk a few times. In the talk Ryan brought up a good way to build out WordPress and turn it into a developer focused PHP platform. His method is not so difficult. Create the wrappers, test them, flip them.

Overall WordPress isn’t changing any time soon, and it will always be a user-focused CMS, but would be nice for developers who are shifting to Laravel, Symfony, etc. to have a reason to use WordPress as their PHP framework since it has the best CMS backend out there right now.
